Wirral Ark Dinghies Manager

Wirral Churches' Ark Project is looking for a part-time manager for its new Wirral Ark Dinghies scheme.
Wirral Ark Dinghies (WAD) is a social enterprise, giving homeless hostel clients, and residents of 'move-on' housing, the opportunity to engage in practical work renovating wooden sailing dinghies, which are then sold at a profit to help finance the scheme.
This work creates a good routine for the client, teaches practical skills, and improves self-confidence. It will operate from a 1000 sq.ft. industrial unit in Corporation Road, Birkenhead, where the Manager will be based. He/she will be the sole paid employee of the scheme. We plan to attract volunteers to be involved in the scheme, doing practical work and working alongside clients.
This post is part time 20 hours per week, and pays £9,000 per year (full time equivalent is £15,750). We have funding for two years.
Hours to be 4 hours per day Mon-Fri, 10 am to 2 pm, but, for the right candidate we are willing to agree a slightly different work pattern.
There are four skills/attributes required:
- A moderately good woodworker, and have practical skills generally
- Good with people
- Some knowledge of boats
- Good manager - of their own time, of others, of operational matters
